Mask

The objective for this project was to make a realistic sized mask out of at least 3 polygons. For my project, I made a fish mask. I feel I solved the problem because I used 3 polygons and used many different materials to design the mask. I used tissue paper to give the mask a texturized look and drew on flowers just to attract the eye. I added silver strips to the edges of the body to sort of bring out the length of the body.
In the end, I can't say I'm ecstatic about how my mask turned out because the polygons arent really as noticeable as i'd have liked them to bem which i feel defeats the purpose of the project. If I had had more time to work on this I feel I could have chosen better shapes, but with all the chaos of everyone trying to figure out how to print the shapes and with finals going on there just wasnt the time needed to work on this as much as I would have liked. At this point, I feel in order to make it look better I'd have to start over completely.

  1. Good photo documentation and narrative of your approach throughout these polyhedral based projects.

I agree with your comments about the mask. Unfortunately the polyhedral structures were lost under the tissue paper. Also, I am sorry you were absent in both critiques and we could not discussed your projects in class. Your classmates' comments and suggestions may have been a valid source to revisit the design and materials used in relation to your concept.

The Wall structure looks very interesting. Please bring to class the actual piece. Once again, it was a shame we could not have it included in the critique and that you have missed the presentation of your classmates as well.
